Personal Branding is for many people…
- Personal branding is for the guy at work who is really annoying, until you find out that he was raised without ever seeing a movie or owning a television set. All of the sudden he now seems interesting.
- Personal branding is for your sister in high school who want’s to hang out with the “cool kids”. (The cool kids are different than the popular kids. BIG difference.) And you know your sister is really cool, if only she would stop wearing clothes that are 7 sizes too big.
- Personal branding is for your uncle, who wants to start his own business, but has been working the same boring job at the same boring company for 20 years. And your uncle is anything but boring.
- Personal branding is for your mom - who wants to find a new job, and she is really talented at arranging flowers, but has never worked in a flower shop. If they could only see her designs, they would hire her instantly.
- Personal branding is for your best friend who is about to have a mid-life crisis. He’s 25.
- Personal branding is for your professor from college - he is completely clueless about life outside the University, and he’s cluless about who he appears to be to everyone around him. But he is such a nice guy if you could just “get to know him”.
- Personal branding is for your boss at work. He always seemed to be pushing too hard, until you found out last week that he’s trying to get up the corporate ladder so he can finally buy a house for himself and his pregnant wife. You want to cheer him on because you don’t really want the job.
- Personal branding is for the band at the local dive bar who plays every Thursday night. Their music is amazing, but when looking at them on the stage, all the guys wear totally different clothes. They don’t seem to match in any way - they seem like they were pulled out from bands they were kicked out of. They don’t even have a website, or a Myspace, no one knows about them. And you don’t want to tell anyone about them because you are embarrassed by their appearance.
- Personal branding is for that wacky guy you see at the local coffee shop who thinks he’s a “real estate guy” because he is wearing a suit and an attache, and an old Compaq laptop. Oh, and business cards. You saw him working on his website, and it is so hideous, you feel sorry for the guy. He needs help.
- Personal branding is for the owner of the local coffee shop. He’s a cool guy, and he has an amazing story as to how he started the coffee shop, but no one knows the story.
- Personal branding is for everyone who has started a business - even if you don’t have a cool story.
- Personal branding is for everyone who has started a blog.
- Personal branding is to help tell the story of all these people’s lives, and to clearly show who they are so you can get to know them better. Faster. More accurate. More real.
That means…..
Personal Branding is for YOU.
We want to know your story.
We want to know about your work.
We want to know about you.
Personal Branding is for Everyone.
